Auburn Symphony at the Mondavi Center

The Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts presents a Mother's Day celebration like no other with "Fantasia in Concert Live to Film". This special event, held on May 12, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM, features highlights from Disney’s revolutionary animated films "Fantasia" and "Fantasia 2000". Join us for an afternoon where music meets magic, conducted by the talented Ryan Murray, with the Auburn Symphony playing live to scenes from the films.

"Fantasia", first released in 1940, was an audacious project by Walt Disney to synthesize animated imagery with classical music, creating a new form of entertainment that remains unmatched. The sequel, "Fantasia 2000", continued this legacy, showcasing new animations set to classical music performed by some of the world’s leading orchestras.

This Mother's Day, experience the awe-inspiring "Pines of Rome", the humorous "Dance of the Hours", and the adventurous "The Sorcerer’s Apprentice", among other pieces, as they are performed live while the corresponding film scenes are projected overhead. This concert is a perfect way to celebrate the day with culture, history, and a touch of Disney magic, making it an ideal outing for families or anyone looking to celebrate the extraordinary women in their lives.
